Director - Renaurd's meditation practice spans more than two decades. Renaurd’s practice brings deep meaning to his life, and it is his heart-intention to continue to share the compassion and joy that a consistent mindfulness meditation practice offers him. He is a co-founder of Charlotte BIPOC Meditation Community.
James Renaurd West is a retired licensed professional counselor, having attended UNCC for an undergraduate degree and the University of Cincinnati for a masters in Clinical Counseling. Renaurd also holds certifications in Positive Psychology Training and has been a part of the helping professions most of his adult working life.
Renaurd's meditation practice spans more than two decades. He began by practicing and undertaking training in Transcendental Meditation and in 2023 completed a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) offered by Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach, enabling him to continue facilitating Mindfulness Meditation groups in and around the Charlotte area. Since moving back to the Carolinas in 2015,
Renaurd has been active with Insight Meditation Community of Charlotte (IMCCharlotte.org), with the Charlotte Community of Mindfulness (https://www.ccmindful.org/), and with the Shambhala Meditation Center in Asheville (https://asheville.shambhala.org/). He is a co-founder of Charlotte BIPOC Meditation Community.

Co-Director - Danny’s meditation practice started in the late 1980’s while practicing yoga. His practice was sporadic until 2010, when he became a Buddhist and took refuge. Danny’s meditation and Buddhist practice provide him with peace and an intention of kindness towards all. He is a co-founder of Charlotte BIPOC Meditation Community.
Danny is a retired Claims Attorney in national catastrophic Workers’ Compensation Injury Claims. He graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. and from Seton Hall University Law Center with a J.D. degree. He has a Senior Claim Law Associate designation from the American Educational Institute, Inc.

His practice was sporadic until 2010, when he became Buddhist and took refuge in Buddhism with the KTC Zen Tibetian Center in Columbus, OH (https://columbusktc.org/) and later with The Center for Pragmatic Buddhism (Zen) in Columbus, OH(https://www.cocpb.com/). Since moving to Charlotte in 2019, he has joined the Insight Meditation Community of Charlotte (https://IMCC.org/) and a few years later, the Charlotte Center for Mindfulness (https://CCMindful.org/). Danny is active in both communities, having served on the Board of Directors of IMCC.
Danny’s meditation and Buddhist practice provides him with peace and a wish for kindness towards all.
